Your worldview is the lens you use to see the world. It is a culmination of all that you have ever experienced and been taught.
Ask yourself; does my worldview serve me? You might say; Of course!!! I wouldn’t have it if it didn’t, but is that true? Do you believe in yourself? Do you believe in life? In others? Is your worldview YOURS or did someone hand it to you? Is it a jumble of the beliefs of your family, your friends, the television?
For every human that lives, there is a different worldview. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE sees things a little differently. We work so hard to find consensus, to agree and to make others agree with us. Our way is the only way, they are are wrong, I AM RIGHT!!!!! Right? Is that true? Could you be the only right one?
Once we grow up, we begin to see how many different views there are. This sometimes throws us into a tizzy. We might say…how is it that they think so differently? How is it that they feel so strongly? I feel strongly about this too! How can we exist together when we are so passionately committed to our differing views?
Most philosophers would tell you that it is our separation of thought and belief that causes most of the world’s grief. On that most of us could agree. So…if our separateness is what causes distress, what will bring peace? What will bring compassion? What will bring togetherness?
